Measurements are approximate as slight variations in manufacture may occur due to being hand cut and sewn, and the nature of materials used.
Coats should be loose fitting to allow the body to breathe when coats are worn. The age chart is the easiest way to select sizing as the coats are sized based on average height for age but are generous in the width for loose fitting so it is generally not necessary to select a larger size for a heavier child. Long and thin kids are not bothered by plenty of room, there will be plenty to wrap up in if particularly cold.
Ladies should select size based on normal clothing sizes as coats have been adjusted in size to be loose fitting.
