How do I wash my beach coat?
The beach coats are made out of beach towels so absorb and dry the body better if washed before use, but is not essential to. Cold water, regular machine wash, and line dry is best. Do not dry clean and use of iron is okay.

Can I put the beach coats in the dryer?
Yes, but we recommend that you hang to dry to avoid shrinkage that may occur from the dryer.

I have a flaw in the beach coat’s fabric, will that affect the wear or life?
Like any towel, the beach coats may have minimal flaws such as a thread pull/run and some pilling, but nothing that will affect the wear, durability or quality of the beach coat. If you notice a thread pull, if possible, cut the loop and tie a double knot to prevent a run or otherwise cut low to prevent further pulling.

Can I return my beach coat if the fabric has a flaw?
No not necessary for a flaw similar to mentioned above as most beach towels will have slight flaws. Our quality control will not allow any coats with significant flaws that will affect wear, durability or quality, to be sold.

What do you mean by Jacquard and Jacquard Velour?
Jacquard is the term given to woven dyed yarns as opposed to printed towels and velour is the soft luxurious finish of the jacquard velour towels. Not all toweling have the velour finish.

What is your return policy?
Please check order page for these details along with details on privacy, postage, delivery, refunds & change.

Will the beach coats fade?
Very minimal fading will occur, as with clothing, due to sun exposure and washing. We select the best towels for all sorts of reasons including consideration to fading and therefore only use jacquard towels (woven dyed yarns) with minimal risk of fading after years of wear as opposed to printed towels (white one side, printed colours and designs other side) which fade extremely quickly.

Will the beach coats shrink?
A little shrinkage will occur which we have taken into consideration with the design and patterns.

Are the beach coats colour fast?
Yes except for minimal fading.

Do the beach coats have a UV Protection Factor Rating?
Currently we are having the towels and coats tested by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) for the UV Protection Factor. Once this testing is completed they will issue us with a report and a rating. We expect this rating to be very high meaning the beach coats will provide excellent protection from UV radiation but bear in mind that this protection will only be given to parts of the body completely covered by the beach coats. Sunscreen will still need to be applied and other sun protecting measures such as a hat is always recommended. Further information on UV radiation and protection can be found at www.arpansa.gov.au

Can I have any design/colour in any size?
Designs/colours are limited to sizes listed due to various sizes of towels used to make the various size beach coats.

What is the largest beach coat you can make?
This is open to orders. The largest we have made to date has been a women’s size 28 and we still can make bigger. Bear in mind though, larger than size 16, more towels are required to make larger sizes therefore the price will be more than that of our beach coats kept in stock. All sizes from size 8 up are the same length though, approx 100cm.

Can the beach coats be made with a hood?
Yes, but for an extra price. However, studies on our beach coats (many kids wearing beach coats for many years) have shown that the kids are not so keen on hoods. They say it gets in the way of their playing and makes the coat heavy.

Can I have a beach coat made with a zip?
Yes, however it will be hotter to wear as air will not circulate around your body, at all, when coat is zippered up. Extra cost applies for a zip.

Can the beach coats have longer sleeves?
No, we do not make them with longer sleeves as this becomes more costly and hotter to wear.

Are the toggles on the beach coats safe for my toddler?
Yes, whilst they are still attached. Our toggles are sewn on by hand, not by machines, so apart from more thread used they usually remain tight, however a quick check regularly to ensure toggles are not loose will give peace of mind. Toddlers actually enjoy trying to do up their own toggles, this is a great source of entertainment for both toddler and spectator!

Do men wear beach coats?
Yes we have sold our coats to the blokes but we size all our coats in women’s sizes so if you have trouble with converting to men’s sizes, please email us for help.
